Work and electronic arts

Man... I hate working all day everyday. It sucks. Stay in school as long as you can kids! I'm on my weeks break from uni... so I asked for more hours. And she flippin put me on everyday of this week except Sunday! I thought, oh she won't put me on that much. She'll probably give me a few extra hours. Well I was certainly wrong about that. lol... I guess I should look at the bright side. I'll have a bundle of money next week. Yay.

I am now going to post a picture that I obviously edited for my electronic arts class (its like graphic arts...). I know its not that great. Of course it isn't... this is my first major go at using photoshop so... I had Travis' help (thanks Trav!) and I think it looks all right. Its very funny. lol if you know the ppl in the photos you will really laugh. The three images produce a concept of time. There is the baby boy, teenager and old man. All represent 3 different generations. The context of the image also changes... The girls look adoringly at the teenage guy... They gaze with clucky emotions at the baby, and they look lovingly at their grandfather... of at the old yet rich guy. lol... see you can read it any way you like. I can go on and on about why I did this and why I did that... but it'll get very boring. Hope you like it :-)

Have a good one guys and gals.

Here it is... One of my assessments for my electronic arts class. I know its not that great... but its my first try so... I had fun. Its pretty funny if you know the people. The picture with Ryan (my brother) in it was the original photo. The rest are all edited.

Hmmmm I'm not really in a writing mood... But I do feel like posting pics so... Anyways, I just came home from uni. Well, I cafe really. I had a lecture and then we're spose to go to tutorials or study groups. My study group always goes to a nice cafe and we discuss the lecture and our homework, about political issues and how modernity is affecting our society, etc. Very interesting. Its a really nice atmosphere too... really relaxed. I love it. Neways... I have some photos from Frequency when we went rock climbing that time. I never posted them... Some of them aren't really good quality so thats why. But oh well. Thats the only reason why ya'll look at my blog anyways.
Have a good one.

Getting ready to climb. We all went to the Hangout where we obviously did some rock climbing. I love climbing... Used to do so much of it when I lived up in Roleystone, what with all the trees and hills and stuff.

Ryan climbing, with Daniel holding the rope

Diana climbing (well, squealing really. hehe) and Emma holding the rope. I tell ya what though, Emma can climb some really difficult walls! Far out... she was so good at it. All that scout stuff really helped out, aye Em?

Hey look, theres Matt climbing.

Hey look, theres Matt climbing again. hehe... your butts on show for everyone to see Matt.

Its a bit blurry, I know. But thats only cos I had the flash off. If I had it on, it would have made the pic very dark. This was before we left. I could have gone on for hours, but everyone grew bored of it quickly.

Hello there my fellow bloggers. Been fairly busy aye. Assessment week is next week... which means I have to get all my homework done for those classes... this week. And if your me, you would have left a lot of assignment till the last minute to finish. Hehe... I can be lazy sumtimes... or just plain busy. Had a really good weekend. I ate pretty badly, I know that. Friday night we had first aid classes at my church. That went on for about an hour and 15 mins... Thats a lot of information said in a very little amount of time. Afterwards Kimberly, Ryan, Daniel, Diana and myself were wonderin what to do so we went to Leederville and ate at Sienna's and got really really fat. lol... And Daniel was really sweet and shouted us all a meal. It was the BEST meal EVER! Mmmmmm seafood plate for two (that we shared amongst 3) and then a huMUNGOUS icecream sundae for desert. Yum.
Had Frequency on the next night, after a long days work. Being a supervisor and refunds assistent now, I deal with a lot more cranky customers. Its weird, but I seem to get all the bad ones! Spiritual warfare most probably. Anyways, Frequency was good as always... Ate at Maccas afterwards (more bad, fatty food) and got to bed pretty late. Had church opn Sunday. And Jade Lewis came and preached. She was really really good. I really like her aye, shes a nice gal. The music sounded good too. The youth went to Freo after church and ate there and walked around. It was so flippin busy! I think they had a carnival or something on. And they even had fireworks on during the day. I dunno, but I felt a lil claustraphobic hey. No kiddin, so many ppl there and very small streets. After that we had music prac and we so rocked out aye. OH I just LOVE 'Stones been Rolled Away'... we revamped it. Sounds so funky. John's gonna love it lol.
After pack up a few of us decided to go to the movies... So we went and got fish and chips and sat on the greass in front of Readings cinema for awhile. Then we went and saw 'Lady in the Water'. I actually didn't mind it aye. You can tell it was a book before it became a movie. It was really different, but I liked it. Kind of like a fairy tale in ways. A bit scary too. I fully screamed at the top of my lungs... luckily there weren't many ppl in the cinema :-P
On Monday I had uni and in between classes my car broke down as I was listening to music and eating an apple in there. I had to miss my last class and call up a friend for help. That was a bit annoying aye... And scary. I so didn't want my car to break down on the road. I think it was my battery that was playing up. In the evening Ryan, Di and myself went to Nan's and Pop's with Jay and Ben. Nan's gonna be going to England in 2 weeks time so we thought that it'd be nice if we went and saw em together. Was a really good night... Filled with pizza, chocolate and a movie. I didn't eat ne chocolate (I was a good girl). So yeah... Pretty much been goin to uni and doing homework and church stuff. As you can tell I can get very busy at times. Neways... after quite a boring re-tell of my weekend, I think I might leave you's with some pics. Have a good one. God bless.

Yeah um... lol. Some pics from Frequency on Sat night.

Hahaha... Don't ask. This game was really gross. I can't believe he got us to do this!

The twins were competing in this one. I gotta say, their work was equally just as bad as the other. lol, nuh, it was ok ;-)

Ryan preachin. It was a really good sermon

I had to pop this one on... Seeing as the one Diana posted on her blog is old and gross. Twas taken after church.

Awe, Ryan and Kimberly. This was taken when we went down to Freo for lunch.

All of us walking down into Freo. So busy there aye.

I totally LOVE this pic. I took a few pics over the weekend for an electronic arts assignment. They were pretty funny - we allk had a good laugh.

hehe... more pics for my electronic arts assignment

hehe... I won't show you all of em. I didn't end up using all of em neways. Just one. It was all pretty funny at the time though.

This is the painting that I was talking about in my previous post. I used acrylic complimentary colours to paint her in... I love the exploration with colours when painting shadows and tonal areas on faces. I love portrait painting!

I painted the background first which took a while to dry. Then I proceeded to draw in the girl, whose picture I found out of a magazine. I then painted the girl in white, because the oranges and yellows wouldn't be able to show up if I just didn't it straight onto the background colour. After that long process, I started painting her. It took me from 11:30pm to 4:55am to paint her in. Only just to paint her in... not the backgroiund, just her. It was so much fun and really interesting to see the progress. Yes, I was tired... but it was so worth it.

Up close of the portrait painting. I just love the colours, they compliment each other so well. Hence the name - complimentory colours.

Old camera + picasa not working = technology sucks.

Hey... Had a pretty good day today. But isn't it amazing how a person can say one bad thing to you at the end of the day and it wreaks it all for you? Well that kinda happened to me today. But meh, thats life I guess. Had a good time at uni. I love the uni life aye. All you uni wannabes out there doing TEE at the moment - you'll REALLY enjoy uni. Its SO MUCH BETTER than school aye. I love it.
Neways... God is good. Hes moving. He's using me to do his will and I'm enjoying every second of it. God is so awesome... Who could live without him? I know I'd be damned without him. lol... of course I would. Have a good one guys. Leaving you with some pics of rock climbing from Sat night... It was a really good night... but the pics are shocking. I think we need to buy a new camera. This ones getting old. And I'm leaving you's with some pics of my art work. I really enjoyed painting this one. I used complimentary colours to paint this and a picture from a magazine. I love the bright colours and the way I've explored shadow with the reds and oranges. Its really effective. *happy sigh* painting is awesome.
Arrrrg... picasa is not working... Therefore I can't post photos. Will post them tmrw then. Have a good night. Alyce.

The perfect Fathers Day present.

Fathers Day on Sunday... Have you got your Dad a present? I have. Diana and I went halves and got him some things that he would really want. Took me a bit of time to get all of them. Hopefully he'll like them. So, are you gonna get him something really, really good and thoughtful, or just a present that you quickly took off the shelf and put through the checkout a few hours before the shops closes on Saturday arvo? Or socks? Hopefully whatever you get your Dad, he'll like. Happy Fathers day for Sunday to all the Dads out there... and now, I must go and paint. But I'll leave you with some art pics. These drawings didn't take me too long to do. They're done in charcoal, which is one of my favourite mediums to use. They were drawn for my Northbridge project... The pics above em are of random ppl in the street, whom I interviewed and stuff. Thats not my end product... I've done much more. I can't be bothered explaining it though. Anyways, ciao. Have a good weekend!

Just some investigations of Northbridge pasted to my uni wall. Every 2 weeks we're spose to show our investigations and what we've collecterd and drawn from Northbridge and yada yada yada... You get the drift.

Up close of the charcoal drawings.
