It has arrived

I parked my car and sat very still, gripping the sides of my seat tightly, revealing my white knuckles. Sometime later, I looked to my left and grabbed a sheet of paper that was lying on the seat opposite to me. I read the typed words on it over and over, trying to consume the information written upon it. After what seemed like ages, I drew up the courage to get out of the car and make my way to the examining room. I tottered along, with my handbag held at my side and a jumper in the other, downed in black. Black oversized sunnies, a black shirt and singlet, baggy black pants and cute black shoes. Yup, I was heading to my drama examination and wearing the typical dress code of a drama student. When I got inside and sat down waiting for my turn to be scrutinised by two evil judges, I calmed down a little. Although, when I filled out a form at the desk and stappled some papers together, I noticed that my hands were shaking an aweful lot.
Its wierd, I've probably mentioned this before but, everytime I wait to get on stage I am really nervous. But when I'm actually up there and strutting my stuff, my nerves leave me instantly! Its an awesome feeling actually, taking on someone elses life for a few minutes. I performed my original production first, and I thought that it went really well. I didn't forget my lines at all! (probably because I wasn't interrupted like last time). I was welcomed inside by a pretty, blonde teacher whom I handed my papers to. I was then instructed to set up my props for my original production. I was to perform in a rectangular space of a stage that measured 4mx3m. The stage area was taped down by black cellotape which I gingerly stepped into as they started the clock. My original production (and for you's that don't know, an original production is a script that you write and block yourself) went really well. I portrayed my themes effectively and used the correct verbal and non-verbal communication skills (hehehe I have to use heaps of terminology when discribing drama).
After that, they asked me to perform an improvisation, which they gave me guidlines for. I think I performed that very well also. The next part of my exam was to perform a scripted monologue. I extracted a short monologue from 'A Streetcar Named Desire' Which, if you were and are a drama student, you would be very familier with. I took on the character of Blanche, a loquacious and fragile woman around the age of thirty. Blanche prefers to live in her imagination, rather than facing the harsh truth of life and her past. Blanche has had many "intimacies" with strangers, on her search for acceptance. Its a very good role to perform, and I enjoyed learning a strong Southern American accent.

"Yes, I had many intimacies with strangers. After the death of Allen, intimacies with strangers was all I seemed able to fill my empty heart with. I guess it was panic, just panic that drove me from one to another. Hunting for some protection. Here and there, in the most unlikely places!"

Its an old 1920's play... Oh its so good aye! Brilliant! Anyway, I had those lines compacted and burnt onto my brain. I showed those judges who was boss! lol. After that they told me to get a chair, so I sat down and answered the three questions they asked me. And then, I was free! It went really quickly aye! Thank goodness. But when I think about it, I had fun! I walked out of that room with confidence, totally happy with my result. After being complimented on how 'flattering' my black pants looked on me, I left Phenros College and drove off. I stopped by a trendy little store... Which I WILL come back to during the holidays (had great gift ideas in there!) Then I went to Victoria Park Maccas and bought myself a chocolate thickshake and drove home! What a good day... I seriously enjoyed it. I'm so happy... *sigh* I wish I could perform all day! SUCH a good feeling! I wish I was an actress in Hollywood... *Alyce cups her chin in her hand and looks off into the distance, imagining what her life would be like if she was a famous actress, performing beside the hotties in Hollywood...* hehehe... like that'll happen! lol.
Neways, I've talked too long. I need to go and study for my art exam tomorrow. AND defrost those darn sausages. Have a good one!
