Little Acts of Innocence
Today I was driving back home after dropping Diana at school. I was about to turn a corner when I saw a little boy skipping down on the side walk. He must have been 8 or 9 and he wasn't embarrassed at all. I know that when I ever skip, people give me funny looks. Maybe its because I look like a hephalump when I do it. But this boy was totally free and skipped along merrily. After I turned the corner, I crained my neck to see if he was still doing it... and he was. It was just a beautiful act of innocence. You don't see it often.
A few months back I saw another act of innocence. Three girls were selling mulberry juice n the side of the road. I saw them when I went past and smiled to myself. At the next turn of I did a u-turn and drove back. I parked my car and the little girls looked up at me incredulously. They had mulberry stains around their mouths, feet and hands, and giggled cutely as I walked up.
"What are ya selling there girls?"
[insert giggling] "Mulberry juice!"
"Did you make it yourselves?"
Fervent nods come from the girls as they stare at me in awe. They couldn't believe that someone had really stopped to look at their stall! I looked into all the cups, and saw little floating things in the juice. I shuddered inside a little as I looked at the girls feet, and wondered if they had juiced the mulberry's the traditional way.
"How much is the juice girls?"
"50 cents for a cup."
I got my purse out and handed the girls 50 cents. I thanked them most greatly as they passed over a cup, and waved goodbye at them. They stared at me as I got into the car, pipped at them goodbye and drove off. Needless to say, I didn't drink their juice. As soon as I got home I tipped it out of my car and threw the cup away. It was just so cute to see their eager and happy faces.
Its just these little acts of innocence that make my day, ya know? It just leaves me in a happy, pondering mood... Don't you agree? Lets not forget the little things in life...

that was a nice post, left me with a smile on my face. :-)
That was so wonderful Alyce, I love how you put everything in such articulate order lol but ever so cuteness
Thanks :-) It was so awesome just to witness that stuff... You really don't see it often. Kids nowadays prefer to play video games... They'de never think to sell things to people who won't take any notice of them.
