Fire! A fire!!!
Sorry I haven't posted of late. It's cos, believe it or not, I have been really very busy! University interviews, church errands, work and going out with mates have kept me occupied. I mean, I haven't even stayed in my pj's all day yet - and that's something that I used to always do on school holidays.
This week I have been to 2 university interviews. The first was on Tuesday, which was with ECU. It went pretty well. They were really happy with my work. Afterwards, when I'd driven back home from Mt Lawly, Matt came and picked me up and we went Christmas shopping together. He also treated me to lunch :-) Thanks Matt. Then we came back home after a few hours, had dinner, watched ABC (like the first in a year! No, seriously. Thats the truth.) Then we had music prac! There was SO many youth there sitting on the couches at Joy's place. haha twas funny. Was a very busy household during practice. Afterwards we were fed rather well, and then we travelled to Jason's house to watch a movie.
When we left, THAT'S when the drama started. Fi and I were traveling down the hill on a hwy when I spotted huge flames rising above some bushes. I pointed it out to Fi, and we decided to get off the road and find exactly where it was. It turns out that it was a bushfire, which was lit in a national park area and right across the road from some houses. We stopped the car just in front of it, and looked around. We were the only ones there! The houses were silent, there was no smell of smoke and not even a crackle of wood could be heard being burnt. So, my first instinct was to drive up and down the road, honking the horn. But Fi didn't sound that enthused. Then I called the fire brigade instead. I know it sounds pretty childish, but it was a lot of fun! Here I was, 12:30 at night, standing around and reporting a fire, while watching the flames draw closer and closer. Eventually, people arrived, wanting to take a look. After what seemed like ages the fire brigade came, and we let out a sigh of releif. I ended up getting home at about 1:00am. Oops... Everyone was a asleep. So I went to bed straight away.
The next day I had work, but before I went I decided to do a bit of Christmas shopping (again). I ended up catching up with an old Southside friend, and chatted to her for awhile. Then all of a sudden, she stopped short and exclaimed - "That's Rove! Rove McManis!" What the? I turned in her direction. There was a short as man, holding hands with a blond, skinny figure.
"Are you sure?"
"Positive!"
So, embarrassing enough, we jogged after them. She went on to say how much she liked his show and yada yada yada. Rove and his wife looked at me and her, and you could tell that they really wanted us to shutup and go away. I didn't say anything to them... I didn't really want to. Rove looks SO DIFFERENT! Seriously. He's so short, and his face looks so different without any TV make-up on. SO that was a little exciting. After that I worked for a few hours, came home, then went out with Joy to Geoffe's place where we played pull till late.
Thursday was another university interview. This time, it was at Curtin. The guy looked at my work and really observed it. Going through both my portfolios. He said that my work was a t a 'high standard' and that her really liked it :-) I was really happy with that. After the interview I looked around at the exhibit there. Pretty interesting compositions! And some very talented pieces... I don't know which university to go to aye... Arrrg! Their both so good! Anyways, I'm gonna go now. Diana and I are leading Frequency tonight. We've got a good night planned. I hope everyone will enjoy it.
